A Little Birdie Told Me…
Recent communications with my faithful fans have revealed that the folks at Simply the Boring Site on Delphi, are trying to breathe life back into a dead horse in the form of SBS v4.9.4. While it’s been at least 3+ years since I begged for volunteers to initiate a re-write, this long past due request is in the making of sorts, but I’m afraid the classic story of “too little , too late” applies. In addition, there’s still ongoing debate as to what language to promote the further re-hash of these dead sea scrolls should be… Why, there’s even talk to write it in Python to speed it up and (for goodness sake) allow it to run on Linux! Imagine that. Their thinking is that it’s time to give MS-DOS on Windows the “Blue Screen of Death”! What will they think of next… Re-incarnate the use of the Dou Tri columns on the roster pitching lines? Wait! What’s this? “Previously SBS ignored pitcher's 2B and 3B allowed columns in .DAT files. Now it will use those stats if entered.” Land o’ Goshen, what will they think of next.
To demonstrate the futility of their dreams… I have attached a feature-rich matrix with which to compare the current state of their extinct dinosaur, to Simply the Best Simulator (SBS.py).
Clearly, there’s only one choice for the best in baseball simulations… That’s why we’re the leader in AI baseball simulation… Remember:
